The Russian Ruble (RUB) is the currency of Russia. The National Bank of Georgia sets its official rate per 100 RUB.
The Russian rouble is widely exchanged in Georgia because of tourism, trade and money transfers. Its official rate is calculated from the dollar rate and the rouble’s rate on international markets.
The gap between buy and sell rates for roubles is much wider than for dollars or euros, and it differs a lot from one provider to another. The official rate is therefore a poor guide to what you will actually receive: compare the buy rates of banks and exchange offices above.
